As part of YTL Hotel's commitment to improving The Academy, we are delighted to announce the hotel has recently undergone a multi-million-pound interior refurbishment and is now part of the prestigious Small Luxury Hotels of the World collection.
Renowned New York-based designer Alexandra Champalimaud oversaw the refurbishment at The Academy, creating an engaging blend of modern and vintage with a nod to the lives and loves of the Bloomsbury Set who lived and worked in the area in the early 20th Century.

By Tube
Tottenham Court Road (London Underground), Goodge Street station (Northern Line), Euston Square (Circle, Hammersmith and City, and Metropolitan Lines), Holborn (Central Line) and Warren Street (Victoria Line) are all within a 10-minute walking distance of the hotel.

By Car
The main motorway into London is the M4, which leads onto Euston Road, a 5-minute drive from the Hotel. The M25 orbital motorway, the M1 and A1 from the north all lead to City Road/Euston Road, where The Academy is reached within fifteen minutes. Gower Street has one-way access, which is gained from the north end of the road (from the Euston Road).
By Rail
London's Euston Station, which serves the Midlands, Wales, North West England and Scotland is the closest mainline rail station (a 10-minute walk from the hotel). Kings Cross Station and St Pancras International Station are within a 20-minute walk, or a short taxi ride away. All of London's other mainline stations are within a 30-minute taxi ride or reachable on the London Underground.
By Air
Heathrow Airport is an approximate one-hour drive, depending upon traffic. Alternatively, you may wish to take the Heathrow Express into London Paddington, with a journey time of 15 minutes. The London Underground service runs from all Heathrow terminals. Taking the Piccadilly Line into central London brings you direct to Holborn Station, which is a 10-minute walk from the hotel. Gatwick Airport is an approximate 90-minute drive, depending upon traffic. Alternatively, you may wish to take the Gatwick Express into London Victoria, a journey time of 40 minutes.
